When searching for a newborn photographer expectant parents will come across a wide variety of photographers with different styles, workflows, pricing and more. Parents may contact more than one photographer to find the best "fit" for them.
Here at Moriah Peterson Photography newborn sessions are my specialty. I have invested in education from top photographers in the industry and strive to provide the best experience for my clients.
It is truly an honor every time I photograph a brand-new baby. Each baby has their own little details- rolls, hair, or squishy lips and I want to capture their perfectness.
I love incorporating textures and monochromatic tones into each session. My goal is to create beautiful setups while still keeping the baby as the focus.
When parents book a session with me they are welcome to my collection of wraps, hats, tiebacks, and props and my collection is always growing. Before I begin styling a newborn session I ask the parents what their style is: simple, neutral, colorful, bold etc. Once I know the parents style I begin by picking backdrops, layering pieces and wraps. Then I'll pick coordinating hats or tiebacks depending on the gender of the baby. I sort through my buckets, beds and bowls to find just the right props for the session.
My artistic style as a newborn photographer is warm with beautiful shadows. I enjoy using neutrals but love adding in pops of color. I love using vintage quilt pieces and burlap textures. Earthy tones have my heart but I always love a beautiful navy blue and a mauve pink.
I offer two different types of newborn sessions, a mini and deluxe.
The newborn mini features baby only wrapped poses and the deluxe session includes family, sibling poses and wrapped and unwrapped poses.
As a skilled newborn photographer, parents can feel at ease knowing their sweet baby is in good hands and that their baby's safety and comfort is my number one priority.
